MONEE — The Monee Village Board on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, approved an ordinance amending a special use permit for CBS Properties LLC to formally allow outdoor storage at the company’s truck and auto repair operation.
The amendment, presented under the attorney’s report, modifies Ordinance #2048, which previously granted the special use permit. According to the ordinance text in the packet, the property sits at 26016 S. Sunset Drive, is zoned M-1, and is approved for a transportation business in the front of the building and auto repair in the rear — now expressly “along with outdoor storage as requested.”
The ordinance history shows the original application dates to early 2024, with a presentation made to the village’s Zoning Board of Appeals, which determined the use would not be detrimental to public health, safety or welfare and recommended approval subject to conditions.
During a brief discussion, a trustee sought confirmation that the outdoor storage provision would cover the trucks and autos kept in the yard for repair. The village attorney confirmed that it would, and that the vehicles would be stored uncovered.
The motion passed 5-0, with Trustees Wilson, Youdris, Gonzalez, Horne and Rakis voting in favor; Trustee Henson was absent. The attorney announced the measure had been assigned Ordinance #2146.
