Crete-Monee Offense Powers 18-3 Rout of Rich Township
The Crete-Monee varsity softball team put on an offensive clinic on Wednesday, cruising to an 18-3 victory over Rich Township in a conference matchup.
The Warriors’ bats were relentless from the start, but the game was truly decided in a massive middle-inning surge. After a 1-0 start, Crete-Monee plated seven runs in the third inning and followed up with a jaw-dropping 10-run rally in the fourth to cement the mercy-rule victory.
Raechel Lindsay anchored the offensive explosion, going 3-for-4 with five RBIs, including a home run and a triple. T. Ramirez also provided a spark, contributing two hits and two RBIs, while Giselle Angulo added three hits and three RBIs to the team’s total.
On the mound, M. Robinson delivered a solid performance, working all four innings and striking out five batters to secure the win. While Rich Township managed six hits, the Crete-Monee defense remained sharp and error-free, effectively containing the host lineup to close out the contest.
