Rich Township Offense Powers Past Crete-Monee, 21-4
The Rich Township varsity baseball team overwhelmed Crete-Monee on Monday, utilizing a relentless offensive attack to secure a 21-4 conference victory.
Rich Township wasted no time seizing control of the game, plating nine runs in the first inning and following up with a 10-run outburst in the second. The visiting Knights pounded out 14 hits on the afternoon, showing discipline at the plate and aggression on the basepaths, where they tallied seven stolen bases.
Cavion Danley led the way for Rich Township, finishing a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs scored, four RBIs, and a pair of triples. Jeremiah Henry also contributed significantly, driving in four runs, while B. Fergerson added three hits and two RBIs.
Despite trailing early, Crete-Monee showed flashes of effort, particularly in the third inning when they rallied for three runs. Keegan Quaderer paced the Warriors at the plate with a hit and two RBIs, but the gap proved too wide to overcome against a deep and consistent Rich Township lineup.
Landon Hughes earned the win for the Knights, pitching three innings and limiting the Crete-Monee offense to two hits while striking out two.
