Crete-Monee Offense Powers 18-8 Victory Over Rich Township
The Crete-Monee varsity softball team put on a clinical display of base running and hitting on Monday, overwhelming Rich Township in an 18-8 conference win.
Crete-Monee wasted no time setting the tone, scoring in every inning of the five-inning affair. The Warriors’ offensive strategy was bolstered by an incredible 20 stolen bases, with T. Ramirez leading the way by swiping seven bags and scoring five runs.
The Warriors recorded 14 hits, including key extra-base contributions from M. Robinson and Raechel Lindsay, to steadily build their lead. After putting up two runs in the first, Crete-Monee added four in the second, four in the third, five in the fourth, and three in the fifth.
While Rich Township managed to put runs on the board—highlighted by a five-run fourth-inning rally—the Warriors’ defense remained flawless, committing zero errors. M. Robinson stepped in to provide an inning of scoreless relief pitching to help seal the victory.
