Lott Tosses No-Hitter as Neuqua Valley Blanks Crete-Monee 16-0

The Crete-Monee varsity baseball team ran into a buzzsaw on Saturday afternoon, falling 16-0 to Neuqua Valley in a four-inning, non-conference home matchup. Neuqua Valley senior pitcher Christian Lott completely shut down the Crete-Monee offense, tossing a four-inning no-hitter to secure the decisive run-rule victory.

Lott was virtually untouchable on the mound for the visiting Wildcats. He struck out seven batters and allowed just one baserunner—a walk to senior AJ Monegan Jr.—over his highly efficient 44-pitch complete game. Monegan managed to steal a base to get into scoring position, but Crete-Monee was otherwise unable to generate any offensive momentum.

Defensively, Crete-Monee struggled to contain the pressure applied by the Neuqua Valley lineup. The hosts committed five errors that extended innings and allowed five unearned runs to cross the plate.
