Robinson’s One-Hitter, Explosive Offense Power Crete-Monee Past Thornton 18-0

Spread the love

The Crete-Monee varsity softball team capped a dominant week with a resounding 18-0 home conference victory over Thornton on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Backed by an unstoppable lineup that belted 16 hits and a spectacular pitching performance by Marissa Robinson, Crete-Monee needed just four innings to trigger the run rule and secure the shutout.

Crete-Monee wasted no time asserting control, sending a parade of hitters to the plate in a 10-run first inning. The offensive onslaught continued with a six-run second inning that effectively put the game out of reach. The lineup was remarkably efficient, drawing seven walks and recording 16 hits without striking out a single time. Power was on full display as C. Sawallisch and Kaylee Slattery each launched home runs. The team also wreaked havoc on the basepaths, swiping 12 total bases, led by Taleaana Ramirez with four and Robinson with three.

In the circle, Robinson was brilliant. She kept the Thornton batters guessing all afternoon, allowing just one hit—a single by Ashely Tobal—over four scoreless innings. Robinson struck out nine of the 14 batters she faced and issued only two walks on a highly efficient 56 pitches. Defensively, Crete-Monee played a flawless game, committing zero errors to support their ace and finalize the blowout victory.
