The Monee Village Board met on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to advance several infrastructure payouts and begin hashing out the financial priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. The meeting featured a tense debate over the village’s residential tax rebate program and funding levels for the Monee Historical Society, ultimately resulting in a consensus to draft the FY2027 budget appropriation ordinance for further review. The board also unanimously approved the first pay raises for the village mayor, clerk, and trustees since 2004, which will take effect after upcoming elections.
