Monee Village Board Meeting | April 8, 2026

The Monee Village Board met on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to advance several infrastructure payouts and begin hashing out the financial priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. The meeting featured a tense debate over the village’s residential tax rebate program and funding levels for the Monee Historical Society, ultimately resulting in a consensus to draft the FY2027 budget appropriation ordinance for further review. The board also unanimously approved the first pay raises for the village mayor, clerk, and trustees since 2004, which will take effect after upcoming elections.

In other newsworthy actions, the board approved the following:

The board unanimously approved Pay Request #1 to Metropolitan Corporation in the amount of $156,960.00 for ongoing construction related to the Firemen’s Park Phase II Improvements. Farnsworth Group and village staff reviewed the invoice and found the work to be in substantial compliance with the contract and engineering plans for the pay period ending March 31, 2026.

Geranium Lane Paving Payout Authorized
Trustees unanimously approved Pay Request #3 to Iroquois Paving Corporation in the amount of $62,693.92 for the Geranium Lane and Crete-Monee Road Country Meadows Access project. Village Renews Batterman Farm Lease Agreements
