  • All expenditure measures passed in 4-0 votes, with Trustee Deborah Burgess absent from the meeting.

The Monee Township Board of Trustees on Thursday, February 19, 2026, signed off on a series of substantial capital and operational investments, including a $29,448.80 authorization for a new generator and warranty.

The generator purchase represents the largest single expenditure approved during the 59-minute regular meeting, which was called to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Monee Township Hall. Trustee Billy Morgan introduced the motion for the generator, which was seconded by Trustee Terri L. Boles. The board passed the measure in a 4-0 roll call vote, with Supervisor Donna Dettbarn and Trustee James W. Young joining Morgan and Boles in the affirmative. Trustee Deborah Burgess was absent from the meeting.

In addition to the hardware purchase, the board took action to secure its financial oversight for the next three years by approving a bid proposal from its current auditor, Macchietto Roth & Company, P.C. The multi-year agreement locks in tiered pricing for the township’s annual audits. The contract stipulates a cost of $12,000 for the year ending March 31, 2026; $12,600 for the year ending March 31, 2027; and $13,000 for the year ending March 31, 2028. Trustee Morgan motioned to approve the auditor bid, seconded by Trustee Young, with the board passing it 4-0.

Facility maintenance was also addressed, as the board unanimously approved a quote from Welch Cleaning Pro (WCP). The commercial cleaning contract will be active from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027. According to notes provided in the meeting’s agenda packet, the scope of the cleaning contract will be expanded at a later date to include the township’s new pantry area once ongoing renovations are completed. The cleaning contract was motioned by Trustee Morgan and seconded by Trustee Young before passing 4-0.

Following the approval of the major contracts, the board additionally reviewed and discussed the tentative 2026-2027 township budget, paving the way for a formal budget hearing scheduled for mid-April. Prior to adjournment, the board unanimously approved the payment of township bills as presented for the period of January 16, 2026, through February 19, 2026.
