The Peotone Public Library District Board of Trustees on Thursday, February 19, 2026, voted to approve a basic service feasibility study with Product Architecture to explore future library enhancements.
The decision followed a 5:30 p.m. Special Committee of the Whole meeting, during which the board reviewed expert recommendations for the study. According to the committee reports, Product Architecture provided a quote of $10,500 for the basic service. A competing firm, Engberg Anderson, was deemed “more costly and therefore not considered at this time,” according to the meeting minutes.
Trustee Mary Jane Carlson moved to hire Product Architecture for the basic service feasibility study with a total budget of $11,000. Trustee S. Dascenzo seconded the motion.
The board approved the measure in a 5-0 roll call vote, with Library Board President Margaret Horne, Trustee Carlson, Trustee Dascenzo, Vice-President Jean Oliver, and Secretary Bonnie Patek voting in favor. Treasurer Susan Chisausky was absent.
While the approved budget covers the basic service, Product Architecture’s full proposal included an additional $10,500 to coordinate a focus group, which would utilize the services of a consulting group alongside John Shales. Rather than approving the focus group immediately, the board instructed Library Director Sarah Ehlers to negotiate with Product Architecture to lock in the $10,500 quote so it can possibly be used at a future date.
