Monee Village Board Meeting | Feb. 11, 2026

Article Summary: The Village of Monee recognized three employees from the Finance, IT, and Police departments for their exemplary performance and dedication to public service.
Employee Recognition Key Points:

  • Award Criteria: The “CREW” award honors Credibility, Respect, Equality, Fellowship, Identity, and Work Commitment.

  • Recipients: Carolyn Collins (Finance), John Jones (IT), and Elise Bednarczyk (Police) were honored.

  • Police Recognition: Records Clerk Elise Bednarczyk was praised for her efficiency and interactions with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.

The Monee Village Board on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, presented the semi-annual “CREW” awards to three employees recognized for going the extra mile to serve the village.

Mayor Dr. Therese M. Bogs introduced the awards, which honor employees who demonstrate exemplary work and positive attitudes. “The semi-annual CREW employees are an integral part of the crew and how they approach the people they encounter and the work they perform,” Bogs said.

The recipients for the second half of 2025 were Carolyn Collins (Finance), John Jones (IT), and Elise Bednarczyk (Police).

Trustee Chuck Rakis presented the award to Carolyn Collins, citing her management of accounts payable and payroll. Rakis noted that Collins recently stayed late to ensure tax rebate checks were printed and delivered on schedule. “Having someone as detailed and reliable as Carolyn in this role has helped maintain employee well-being and team morale,” Rakis said.

Rakis also recognized IT Manager John Jones for his responsiveness and technical expertise. Jones is currently supporting a large-scale communications migration and oversees the recording and posting of village board meetings. “John takes the time to listen to each individual and works hard to serve others’ needs even before addressing his own,” Rakis said.

Trustee Scott Youdris presented the award to Police Records Clerk Elise Bednarczyk, who has been with the department since 2010. Youdris highlighted her efficiency in handling requests from the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office and her professional demeanor with the public.

“Elise is often sought out by officers when they need assistance with paperwork or court issues,” Youdris said. “We’re so lucky to have Elise as part of the Monee PD family.”
