Village of Monee Meeting | January 28, 2026
The Monee Village Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Dr. Therese M. Bogs called the meeting to order, followed by an invocation from Pastor Short and the Pledge of Allegiance. The board approved the consent agenda, which included the minutes from the Jan. 14, 2026, meeting.
Following the regular business and reports, the board entered an executive session to discuss personnel matters. Upon returning to the open session at 9:14 p.m., the trustees took action on two employment-related items before adjourning at 9:16 p.m.
Personnel Actions:
The board voted unanimously to offer a mechanic position to a candidate at a salary of $75,000. Additionally, the trustees voted to create an ordinance establishing the position of IT Director.
Scooter Ordinance:
Trustee Scott Youdris announced that he is working with the Police Chief to draft a new ordinance regulating electronic scooters within the village. He invited other trustees to provide input as the legislation is developed.
Snow Removal Praise:
Trustee Doug Horne reported receiving positive feedback regarding the Public Works Department’s handling of a recent snow event that dropped nearly five inches of snow. Horne noted that visitors attending a combined church service commented that Monee’s streets were in better condition than those in surrounding communities.
Parks and Recreation:
Trustee Heidi Gonzalez announced that the Parks Department is selling tickets for a Chicago Blackhawks game on March 6. She also highlighted upcoming classes, including kids’ cooking sessions and a “Shrimp and Grits” class celebrating Black culinary traditions on Feb. 13.
