The Monee Township Board of Trustees on Thursday, November 20, 2025, formally adopted tax levy ordinances for the upcoming year following a Truth in Taxation hearing.
Supervisor Donna Dettbarn called the regular meeting to order at 7:17 p.m., immediately following the conclusion of the public hearing. During the meeting, Dettbarn announced a tentative levy increase of 7.75%. She attributed this increase specifically to the release of funds from TIF 3 in the Village of Monee.
The board subsequently voted on the measures. Trustee Deborah Burgess made the motion to adopt Monee Township Levy Ordinance 2025 (25-003), which was seconded by Trustee Billy Morgan. The motion passed 4-0.
Additionally, the board adopted Monee Township Road District Levy Ordinance 2025 (25-004). This measure was also moved by Trustee Burgess and seconded by Trustee Morgan, passing with a 4-0 vote.
Voting in favor of both ordinances were Supervisor Dettbarn, Trustee Burgess, Trustee Terri L. Boles, and Trustee Morgan. Trustee James W. Young was absent from the meeting.
