Meeting Summary
The Monee Village Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, December 10, 2025, to address a wide range of financial, developmental, and community issues. The board unanimously passed the 2025 tax levy and introduced a new 8% amusement tax on streaming services to diversify village revenue.

Stop Sign Installation Approved:
The board voted to authorize the installation of a new stop sign at the intersection of Geranium Lane and Court Street. The ordinance also designates stop intersections at Daffodil Lane and Geranium Lane to address increased vehicular traffic and safety concerns in the area.
Hotel Redevelopment Agreement:
Village Attorney Larry Gryczewski provided an update on the redevelopment agreement for the Quality Inn and Super 8 hotels. The owners have verbally agreed to the village’s offer, which involves $500,000 in TIF funds for each hotel. A final vote on the agreement is expected at the next board meeting.
IDOT Funding Secured:
Trustees approved a resolution for a joint funding agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The agreement relates to the construction and realignment of Cleveland Avenue, allowing the village to utilize federal funds to offset the costs of the infrastructure project.
Squad Car Donation:
The board approved the surplus designation of a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria from the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) fleet. Trustees subsequently voted to donate the vehicle to the Homer Glen EMA. “It’s a way of helping everybody out,” Trustee Scott Youdris noted regarding the inter-agency donation.
TIF Assignment Approved:
The board authorized the assignment of a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) note for the property at 25100 South Ridgeland Avenue. The assignment transfers future TIF payments from the current developer to STAG Industrial Holdings, LLC, which is acquiring the property.
Sign Easement for Realignment:
The board authorized Mayor Dr. Therese Bogs to execute a perpetual sign easement agreement with Blue Beacon and the Red Roof Inn. This agreement is necessary to facilitate the road realignment of Cleveland Avenue and must be completed by March to meet IDOT funding guidelines.
