Monee Village Board Meeting | Dec. 10, 2025

Article Summary: The Monee Village Board approved land use changes for Iroquois Paving Corporation to allow for outside storage and facility updates while receiving a progress report on the new Tractor Supply Company location. Officials reported that the global manufacturer Voortman Steel is also on track to open its new facility in the spring.

Economic Development Key Points:

  • Iroquois Paving Approvals: The board granted a special use permit for outside storage, a variance to waive a light pole requirement, and approved a minor subdivision for Iroquois Paving Corporation.

  • Tractor Supply Update: Paving is complete at the new Tractor Supply site, with the store targeting a spring opening once electrical utility connections are finalized.

  • Voortman Steel: The 120,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is on schedule to open in the spring.

  • Future Growth: Trustee Michael Wilson hinted at another large global steel manufacturer relocating to Monee soon, promising hundreds of jobs.

The Monee Village Board of Trustees on Tuesday, December 10, 2025, moved forward with several economic development initiatives, granting key approvals to Iroquois Paving Corporation (IPC) and reviewing progress on major commercial construction projects.

Following a favorable recommendation from the Zoning Board of Appeals, trustees voted to approve three ordinances related to IPC. These included a special use permit to allow outside storage of construction equipment, a variance waiving the requirement to install a specific light pole and fixtures, and a minor subdivision titled “IPC Subdivision.”

“I just like to say that I really appreciate what Iroquois Paving does for this village and I’m glad to have them here,” Trustee Michael Wilson said following the approvals.

Wilson also provided an update on the construction of the new Tractor Supply Company location. He reported that the final coat of asphalt was completed on the parking lot and turning lanes just days before recent heavy snowfall.

“This lane will be a full access entrance and exit,” Wilson noted regarding the improvements at Monee-Manhattan Road and Bailey Lane.

The project is currently waiting on ComEd to speed up the electrical connection process. Wilson emphasized the need for heat in the building to ensure construction remains on schedule for a spring opening.

Updates were also provided on industrial developments. Voortman Steel’s new 120,000-square-foot office and manufacturing building is on track for a spring debut. Wilson also teased an upcoming announcement regarding another large steel manufacturer relocating to Monee, which he said would bring “hundreds of jobs.”

“Monee is growing and there will be lots more controlled growth to come,” Wilson said. “Take a picture now because it’s not going to look like this in a couple [of years].”
