During the “Old Business” portion of the meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Assistant Superintendent Jason Okrasinski announced that the district has found a buyer for the Monee Education Center.
“On Monday, November 17th, we had the bid opening for the sale of MEC,” Okrasinski reported. “We are in receipt of an offer that met the minimum requirements established by the board for the sale of MEC in the amount of $553,500.”
The district has received the required deposit, and the sale process will now move to the legal phase. This concludes a period of uncertainty regarding the property, following a decision at the October meeting to re-bid the facility due to new interest.
“Wow. We don’t have to cut the grass no more. Good job,” Board President Maurice Brown remarked.
