According to a weather precipitation report generated Sunday, Nov. 30, the bulk of the snowfall occurred on Saturday, Nov. 29. The daily total for Saturday reached 10 inches, driven largely by a high-intensity event in the evening. Data indicates that at 6 p.m., the area received 4.5 inches of snow in just one hour.

Snowfall continued into the early hours of Sunday, Nov. 30, adding another 2.6 inches to the weekend total. Temperatures on Sunday ranged from a high of 34 degrees to a low of 15 degrees by 11 p.m.

The active weather pattern is expected to persist through the first week of December. A forecast generated Sunday predicts a 100 percent chance of snow for Monday afternoon, Dec. 1, with less than one inch of accumulation expected. A second system is forecast for Tuesday night, Dec. 2, bringing an additional 1 to 3 inches of new snow.

Following these snow events, temperatures are expected to drop significantly. Thursday, Dec. 4, is forecast to be sunny but cold, with a high near only 12 degrees. The temperature is expected to plunge further on Friday night, Dec. 5, reaching a low of -4 degrees.
