JOLIET – Drivers in Green Garden and Frankfort Townships will see new speed limit signs soon, after the Will County Board voted to alter speed zones on several local roadways to improve safety.
In Green Garden Township, the board approved Speed Zone 705, lowering the limit on Stuenkel Road to 45 MPH. The zone stretches 1.14 miles from Scheer Road (north leg) east to U.S. Route 45.
In Frankfort Township, the board focused on the Lincoln Estates subdivision, establishing 25 MPH speed limits for a network of residential streets (Zones 706 through 711).
The new 25 MPH limits apply to:
