The Crete-Monee School District 201-U Board of Education on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, reached a consensus to reopen the bidding process for the sale of the Monee Education Center.
During the administrative updates portion of the meeting, Superintendent Dr. Kara Coglianese requested the Board’s permission to move forward with the process. She reported that district administration had met with a potential buyer from the community who toured the facility.
“They did tour it and they would like to go through the bidding process,” Dr. Coglianese told the Board. “With your permission, I’d like to be able to open that up for bid to have this individual submit one.”
Board President Maurice Brown confirmed he was present during the walkthrough of the property. “I was just observing, but they seem to be pretty enthusiastic about that,” Brown said.
The Board did not take a formal vote on the item but provided a consensus directing the administration to proceed. Dr. Coglianese stated that the sale would go out for bid upon the return of Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations Jason Okrasinski.
