The Monee Village Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, to address significant financial and development matters. Personnel Salary Adjustment:
Following an executive session, the board voted unanimously to adjust the Economic Development Director’s salary to $115,000. Additionally, the board authorized a payout of 248 hours of sick pay to employee Kevin Battles.
Real Estate Bid Accepted:
The board accepted a bid for the village-owned property at 25777 S. Governors Highway. While the minutes from the previous meeting noted a bid of $120,000, Attorney Larry Gryczewski stated during this meeting that the bid price was $130,000 and confirmed it aligned with the appraised value. The board authorized the attorney to draft a contract with the stipulation that a building must be erected within one year.

Electronics Recycling Event:
Trustee Doug Horne announced a Residential Electronics and Hazardous Waste Drop-Off event scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event requires an appointment, which can be made at willcountygreen.com.
Fall Fest Safety Rules:
Trustee Heidi Gonzalez reminded residents that Fall Fest is approaching (Sept 5-7). New safety measures include a requirement that anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian after 6:00 PM on festival grounds. No masks are allowed, and golf carts are prohibited on festival grounds.
Police Department Hire:
Trustee Scott Youdris announced that the Monee Police Department has hired Colton Pederson of Frankfort. He is set to begin the Police Academy on September 2. Additionally, Sergeant Dan DePaolo was recognized for graduating from the Northwestern University Staff and Command course.
