Monee Village Board Meeting | April 22, 2026

Article Summary: The Monee Village Board approved three zoning variances without opposition, including a storage shed variance for Mayor Dr. Therese M. Bogs and a special use permit for temporary commercial truck parking.

Monee Zoning Key Points:

  • The Board approved Ordinance #2138, granting a variance for a storage shed at 26634 S. Winfield Road, a property owned by Mayor Dr. Therese M. Bogs.

  • Ordinance #2140 was approved to allow Space X LTD to temporarily park commercial trucks and trailers at 25858 S. Sunset Drive Unit #8 while awaiting service.

  • The Board also approved Ordinance #2139 for a 6-foot privacy fence at 25772 S. Polk Street.

The Monee Village Board on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, unanimously approved a slate of zoning variances, including a property modification requested by the village’s mayor.

The Board approved Ordinance #2138, which grants a variance to allow the construction of a storage shed at 26634 S. Winfield Road. According to the ordinance documents provided in the agenda packet, the applicant and property owner is Mayor Dr. Therese M. Bogs.

The village attorney reported that the Zoning Board of Appeals had previously reviewed the application and issued a favorable recommendation. The Village Board approved the measure with a unanimous 6-0 roll call vote among the trustees.

The Board also approved Ordinance #2140, granting a special use permit to Space X LTD—a local mechanical repair business, not the aerospace manufacturer—located at 25858 S. Sunset Drive Unit #8.

The permit allows the business to utilize the rear portion of its industrially zoned property for the temporary outdoor parking and storage of commercial semi-trucks and trailers.

“He would park in a rear portion of the property. The property had to be maintained in an orderly fashion,” the village attorney noted, clarifying for the Board that the vehicles are only parked temporarily while awaiting engine repairs or customer pickup, and the site will not be used for long-term storage.

Finally, the Board approved Ordinance #2139, granting a variance to applicant Cynthia Bolton to permit the installation of a six-foot privacy fence at 25772 S. Polk Street.
