The Crete-Monee varsity softball team delivered a thoroughly dominant performance on Monday afternoon, routing conference host Thornridge 17-0 in a three-inning, run-rule shortened contest. The victory was highlighted by a spectacular no-hitter from pitcher Kaylee Slattery and an explosive offensive showing that saw the visitors blast two home runs and rack up 16 hits.

Crete-Monee wasted no time seizing control of the afternoon. The visitors jumped on Thornridge in the top of the first inning, pushing five runs across the plate to establish an immediate cushion.

The offense then completely erupted in the second frame. Capitalizing on relentless baserunning and a barrage of extra-base hits, Crete-Monee plated 11 runs to blow the game wide open and extend their advantage to a staggering 16-0.

T. Ramirez anchored the lineup with a monstrous day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, three RBIs, and three runs scored. M. Robinson also flashed her power, launching a home run and driving in a pair of runs during a 2-for-3 performance. A. O’Connor, Madison Myers, and Emily Gerth were all perfect at the dish, each collecting two hits and combining for seven RBIs to keep the lineup moving.

The visitors were a constant threat on the basepaths, tallying an incredible 16 stolen bases as a team. L. Thunhurst led the charge with four steals, while Slattery and Nadia Love swiped three bags apiece.

Backed by massive run support, Slattery was unhittable in the circle. The standout pitcher tossed a three-inning no-hitter, striking out eight Thornridge batters while working around just three walks and a hit batsman to seal the dominant shutout victory.
