The board entered an executive session at 7:20 p.m. to discuss the matter. Upon returning to the open session five minutes later, Trustee James W. Young made a motion, seconded by Trustee Terri L. Boles, to approve the payments.
The board authorized a $1,000 bonus for Administrator Willa Simmons, $750 for Shirley Lathan, and $500 for Ruth Marcukatis. According to the meeting minutes, the funds were awarded for the staff’s work with the Emergency and General Assistance Programs, as well as extra duties performed during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons.
The measure passed with a unanimous 5-0 vote.
