Monee Township Board Meeting | Nov. 20, 2025
The Monee Township Board of Trustees met on Thursday, November 20, 2025, to handle tax levies, construction approvals, and standard township business. Supervisor Donna Dettbarn called the meeting to order at 7:17 p.m. at the Monee Township Hall.
Property Tax Relief Referendum:
The board voted 4-0 to approve Resolution 25-003, which concerns an “Illinois Property Tax Relief Amendment Advisory Referendum.” The motion was made by Trustee Deborah Burgess and seconded by Trustee Billy Morgan.
Senior Committee Recognition:
The board voted unanimously to recognize the entire Senior Committee as “Volunteers of the Year” in 2026. The designation honors their work in managing and maintaining the township’s Senior program.
Assessor Issues:
Assessor Sandra Heard reported she is working to resolve an ongoing issue with the Supervisor of Assessments. Trustee Billy Morgan stated he has spoken with another Township Assessor regarding similar concerns and will attempt to help Heard obtain a resolution.
Assessor Open House:
Assessor Sandra Heard announced that her office will host an Open House on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Senior Holiday Event:
The township announced that the Senior Holiday Brunch is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Cardinal Creek Golf Club in Beecher.
